remote deposit system adds support for popular Canon and Panini
check scanners.

Florida, January 3, 2007 – Atris Technology, Inc. a
leading provider of windows-based automation solutions to
banks and credit unions, announced today support for two additional
check image capture devices available for use with its FlexDirect
remote deposit system. New scanners are the Canon CR-55 and
Panini My Vision X30, both providing automated check feeding
for more efficient deposits. Atris development specialists
directly manage image capture devices, eliminating integration
overhead associated with third party middleware.
FlexDirect
is a merchant-to-bank remote deposit solution where each transaction
is transmitted directly to the financial institution instead
of a separate service provider. Unlike competing systems,
FlexDirect does not include per-item charges, enabling banks
to grow its remote deposit services without incurring increasing
vendor fees. Additionally, FlexDirect supports ACH conversion,
allowing even greater savings versus standard Check 21 image
exchange.
“As
aggressive hardware pricing continues, we will respond to
support additional devices for our clients,” said Eduardo
Padron, Project Manager at Atris. Other scanners currently
supported include MagTek and Epson, allowing end users to
image checks automatically at speeds anywhere from 30 to 55
items per minute depending on model.
While
not endorsing any specific check scanner, Padron indicated
the use of an auto-feed image capture device is recommended
for business anticipating deposits of 50 items or more. Depositors
routinely handling fewer items can use FlexDirect with a lower
cost single feed check scanner.
